Plastic Paddle Flow Switches
Can we help?
TRIMMABLE PLASTIC PADDLE FLOW SWITCHES
The V8 paddle flow switch is ideal for protection of unattended equipment from damage or loss of production.
Operation is simple and dependable. In most applications, the switch is normally off while there is sufficient flow of liquid or air. When flow stops, the vane spring moves the vane, actuating a single pole double throw switch rated at 5A 120/250Vac to start or stop a motor, pump, engine, etc; operate a damper or valve; shut down a burner or actuate an alarm or signal.
The V8 Flow Switch has a leak proof body and vane constructed of tough durable Polyhenylene Sulfide (equivalent to RYTON®) which has excellent chemical resistance. The full size trimmable vane is provided with moulded-in graduations allowing for installation in pipes from 1 inch to 6 inch diameter. The V8 control is UL recognized as an industrial motor controller per UL standard 508, suitable for mounting in a protected environment.

Miniature Control Valve
AIR OPERATED CONTROL VALVE - THE ‘M’ VALVE
The M Valve is a miniature air operated proportional control valve for use on liquids or gases. Available for 1/4”and 1/2”line sizes, a wide range of inner valve trims offer flow control with CV values from 3.0 down to 0.00008. Each valve has a control range of as much as 40:1 and with interchangeable trims the M Valve is ideal for pilot plant control, representing a scaled down version of larger process control valves.
With linear, equal percentage and quick opening control characteristics, the M Valve also has specific application in dosing, sampling and blending systems. Standard valve material is forged 316 Stainless Steel: alternatives of Hastelloy, Monel, PVC or carbon steel body materials are available with Stellite or other trim materials as required.
The standard Air actuator uses a 3-15 psi control input of either Air-to-Open or Air-to-Close. For higher line pressure applications a standard top mounted positioner is recommended, incorporated into the valve. For high integrity applications, alternative designs of valve seal are available. Extension bonnets or cooling fins are used for cold service or high temperature duty.

Platon Liquid Low Flow Alarm
For liquid low flow or flow failure alarm on cooling systems, water heaters or lubrication systems, the Platon LF flow switch is a rugged sensor with simple electrical reed switch output. Installed in a vertical line with flow upwards, normal flows lift the float in the sensor. A magnet encapsulated in the float then actuates a reed switch, giving contact closure. Should the flow drop to below the preset alarm level, the float falls to the rest position and the contacts open to give an alarm output.
The Model LF is available in 1/2” and 3/4” line sizes, with BSP female threaded connections. Alarm rates are factory set between 0.5 L/min and 10 L/min, to suit most applications. The standard unit is in brass, and has a one piece body suitable for high pressures, with no glands or seals to leak. The externally mounted reed switch has flying leads for local connection to a terminal block.
Typical applications are for water supply flow failure into heaters or boilers, where the flame or power supply is cut to prevent overheating accidents, for lubricant or cutting fluid flow failure in machine tools or gearboxes.
For flow failure alarm in cooling circuits, the LF flowswitch is used on X-ray equipment, electron microscopes, transformers, radio transmitters and high frequency generators.
