Platon Glass Tubes from RM&C are individually scaled and calibrated according to customer's requirements. Custom scales are produced using our "Reynolds Curve" prediction software, which uses air or water calibration data corrected for the effects of temperature and pressure on the density and viscosity of the working fluid.

Fluid flowing vertically upwards through the tapered glass tube causes the float to rise to an equilibrium position. Flow rate is measured by reading the top edge of the float against the scaled tube.

Calibration
Based at our factory in Sheffield our accredited laboratories are available to provide either on-site or in-house calibration to either UKAS or national standards. We cover Temperature (up to 2,200ºC), Pressure (up to 1,200 bar), Flow (up to 2,500 L/min) and Electrical parameters and provide certification using the latest technology.
Our team of experienced on-site engineers hold accreditation for the on-site calibration of equipment including autoclaves, furnaces, thermocouples and probes, scales and balances, ovens and chambers, indicators and controllers, pressure and electrical. We cover the full spectrum of industry sectors. All calibration standards used meet the requirements of Table 3 of AMS 2750D, whether in the laboratory or on site, ensuring full compliance with the specification. We supply thermocouples calibrated and certified to meet the requirements of Table 1 of AMS 2750D appropriate to customer specified usage.
