Compensation and extension cable for all styles and types of thermocouple are available in a variety of sheath materials and conductor sizes. All cables conform to relevant National and International colour codes and standards.
Compensation cable should only be used for joining thermocouples to instruments over a relatively short distance. Materials used have a similar temperature / emf relationship as thermocouples, that is consistent over a limited temperature range. Ideally compensating cables should be used in ambient temperature conditions below 80ºC.
Extension cable meets the same specification as actual thermocouples and can therefore be used across the same temperature range as the thermocouple rating, the only limiting factor for temperature is the insulation material. Extension cable can be used over relatively long distance with negligible effect on accuracy.
Compression Glands
A range of male thermocouple compression glands in various bore sizes, manufactured from both Brass and Stainless Steel are available. Used for mounting temperature probes into flange plates, thermo-pockets and other process fittings.
