The 394 Circular chart recorder provides an easy to read chart by its four colour printing and annotation. With up to 6 inputs and 18 relays the 394 is fully adaptable for most process control applications. The front panel enables simple yet comprehensive configuration. Two levels of access to the instrument are available as standard with the higher level being password protected. The first level allows operator access to a range of facilities needed in day to day monitoring. The second, higher access, allows entry to the more complex input and configuration areas. Configuration can also be carried out using the PC configuration software. This allows an instrument's configuration to be defined off site and down loaded to the instrument later.

A wide array of software modules can be fitted to the 394 that provide extensive maths capabilities which includes counters, timers and totalisers as well as standard equations for mass flow, humidity and many others.

An optional PC card reader can be installed that is compatible with computer industry standard SRAM PC cards. These can be used to store the recorder configuration for transfer to another instrument, or to a PC for manipulation using the configuration tool. Additional PC card options allow data to be logged to the card in ASCII format, readable by standard spreadsheet packages, or in a compressed format for use with the "Review software".
