Brearley Mineral Insulated Thermocouples
Brearley Mineral Insulated Thermocouples are metal sheathed cables with thermocouple conductors which are insulated from each other and the sheath by highly compacted magnesium oxide.
Conductors are safe from environmental contamination, ductile and highly responsive.
The cables are water, oil and gas resistant, extremely robust and are eminently suitable for applications where high or low temperature, corrosion, vibration, pressure and other extreme conditions exist.
Brealey Mineral Insulated Thermocouples can be designed and tested to comply with the requirements of AMS 2750D and NADCAP.
Brearley Thermocouple Assemblies
Noble Metal Thermocouples
RM&C offer Type-R, S and B thermocouples in a variety of wire diameters ranging from 0.15mm to 0.50mm (larger diameters may also be available). Thermocouples can be supplied as bare wire elements, ceramic insulated elements or sheathed thermocouple assemblies.
Ceramic Insulators
Element wires are insulated with recrystallised alumina insulators as standard. The insulator is normally a single continuous piece however shorter sectional insulating beads can be fitted if preferred.
Thermocouple Assemblies
The thermocouple elements are supplied fitted into ceramic closed end protection sheaths which in turn can then be fitted into a high temperature steel sheath if required. A wide range of thermocouple connection heads are available to complete the assembly.
Ceramic Protection Sheaths
RM&C offer ceramic closed end sheaths in aluminous porcelain, recrystallised alumina or silicon carbide. Aluminous porcelain is recommended for temperatures up to 1,400ºC and recrystallised alumina for temperatures up to 1,700ºC. Silicon carbide is recommended for temperatures up to 1,450ºC and is normally used as an outer protection sheath which requires an inner porcelain or alumina sheath to protect the element.
Metal Protection Sheaths
RM&C offer a number of high temperature steels for use as either closed end protection sheaths or as sockets to fix ceramic sheaths to connection heads. Stocked materials include stainless steels in 216 and 310 grades, inoconel 600 and 601, chrome/iron stainless steel 446 and sandvik 253MA nickel chrome. Where a metal protection is used, a ceramic inner sheath is normally used.
Process Connections
Flanged and threaded process fittings are available in carbon steel and stainless steel. These can be supplied as adjustable fittings or fixed welded. Cast iron adjustable flanges are also available.
Data Recorder
As a technical partner of Eurotherm Systems®, RM&C can offer a wide range of process controlling and recording instrumentation. Whatever your application, call one of our technical sales specialists for advice on which unit or complete system would best suit your requirements.
UKAS and Traceable Calibration
Roxspur Measurement & Control Ltd is an ISO 9001:2008 company, we offer UKAS and traceable calibration under BS/EN ISO17025 accredited procedures. Our certificate generation systems are purposely geared to meet the strict and specific requirement of the Aerospace industry.
Calibration
Based at our factory in Sheffield our accredited laboratories are available to provide either on-site or in-house calibration to either UKAS or national standards. We cover Temperature (up to 2,200ºC), Pressure (up to 1,200 bar), Flow (up to 2,500 L/min) and Electrical parameters and provide certification using the latest technology.
Our team of experienced on-site engineers hold accreditation for the on-site calibration of equipment including autoclaves, furnaces, thermocouples and probes, scales and balances, ovens and chambers, indicators and controllers, pressure and electrical. We cover the full spectrum of industry sectors. All calibration standards used meet the requirements of Table 3 of AMS 2750D, whether in the laboratory or on site, ensuring full compliance with the specification.
